It manages inbound goods receipt, putaway to storage locations, replenishment, order picking, packing, shipping, and cycle counting. A modern WMS is scan-driven, tracks inventory in real time at location and lot level, and directs warehouse operators step by step through each task via handheld or wearable devices.
